FIREWHEEL MARKET ATTRACTS NEW LEASES

GARLAND—Firewheel Market, a specialty retail center located at the intersection of SH-78 and SH-190, at the front of Firewheel Town Center mall, continues to strengthen its tenant mix though increased leasing activity. Eight recent leases at the center totaling 22,283 square feet have added a mix of retailers and services designed to enhance the “town square” layout and architecture of Firewheel Market.

Steve Gray and Grant Gold with the Commercial Retail Division of The Weitzman Group handled negotiations as exclusive retail leasing agents for the shopping center.

The new leases at Firewheel Market are for:

·        Firewheel Salons, offering multiple beauty services, which leased 7,772 square feet of retail space. Firewheel Salons should open in the fourth quarter of 2011;

·         Massage Envy, the pioneer and national leader of affordable and convenient massage and spa services, which leased 3,524 square feet of space;

·         AAA Texas, part of the AAA network that is North America’s largest motoring and leisure travel organization, which leased 3,424 square feet for the Garland District Office;

·         Dallas Metroplex Endodontics, a specialty dental practice, which leased 1,912 square feet;

·         Batteries Plus, a battery expert serving personal and business needs, which leased 1,577 square feet of retail space;

·         Granny’s Playhouse, a children’s activity center offering a safe indoor environment for boys and girls ranging from toddler to 12 years, which leased 1,482 square feet;

·         Merle Norman, a skincare and cosmetics company, which leased 1,324 square feet of retail space;

·         Al’s Formal Wear, which provides tuxedo rentals and men’s formal wear for special events, which leased 1,250 square feet.

Firewheel Market is located at the entrance to Firewheel Town Center mall, an open-air mall anchored by Macy’s and Dillard’s. At Firewheel Market, these new concepts join a line-up that includes Pei Wei Asian Diner, Chipotle, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Chase Bank, Pearle Vision, Alfred Angelo Bridal, Starbucks and several others.

In the negotiations with the shopping center, Weitzman’s Earl Harris, Christopher Young and Grant Gold represented AAA Texas, Merle Norman and Al’s Formal Wear.
