WEITZMAN GROUP NAMED LEASING AGENT FOR OLD TOWN

DALLAS—The Weitzman Group has been chosen as exclusive retail leasing agents for Old Town, one of the Dallas area’s oldest and most iconic retail centers. The 265,233-square-foot specialty retail center, first built in 1970 and expanded and remodeled in later years, is located at the northeast corner of Greenville Avenue and Lovers Lane, in the heart of one of Dallas’ densest and most affluent areas.

Michelle Caplan, Elizabeth Nabholtz and Sean Alkek with Weitzman’s Commercial Retail Division will handle leasing. Old Town is a project of Westwood Financial Corp.

Old Town, which features a layout with retail buildings centered around landscaped courtyards, features regional-draw anchors, specialty restaurants, small shops and services.  Anchors include Borders Books & Music, World Market, Michaels, PetSmart and a separately owned Tom Thumb flagship store. Restaurants at Old Town include Royal Thai, Freebird’s, Baker Bros Deli, Fuddrucker’s, Pluckers and several others.

Old Town benefits from its visible, accessible location at the intersection of two of Dallas’ most heavily trafficked thoroughfares. In addition, the trade area offers strong daytime and residential density and strong incomes. Within a three-mile radius of Old Town, the population totals 163,981, and the average household income is $107,964.

The Weitzman Group’s history with Old Town dates back decades, and Herb Weitzman, then a broker, directed the original leasing team for the project in the 1970s.

Old Town is one of two new leasing assignments Weitzman is taking on for Westwood Financial Corp. The other property is Three Way Central, a project at the northwest corner of Greenville Avenue and Southwestern Boulevard. Three Way Central features a line-up that includes Quiznos, Jamba Juice, The UPS Store, Oasis Café and Mr. Gatti’s Pizza.

With these two new project representation assignments, Weitzman now leases seven retail centers for Westwood Financial Corp. The additional properties are: Hebron Crossing, a Kroger –anchored community center located at Hebron Parkway at Old Denton Road in Carrollton; Hebron Parkway Plaza, an Albertsons-anchored community center located at 1025 W. Hebron Parkway in Carrollton; Village of Preston Hollow, an Albertsons-anchored community center located at the northeast corner of Northwest Highway and Midway Road; Royal Crossing, a specialty center located at the southeast corner of Central Expressway and Royal Lane;  and  7718-7752 Forest Lane, a neighborhood center featuring Starbucks and Subway.
