MANDOLA'S, MAUDIE'S TO OPEN IN SHOPS AT THE GALLERIA

AUSTIN—Two of Austin’s best-known concepts will soon join the retail and restaurant line-up at Shops at The Galleria, a regional-draw retail center located on  Highway 71 between RR 620 and Bee Caves Road.

The new concepts are Mandola’s Italian Market, an Italian specialty food shop and trattoria, and Maudie’s Tex-Mex, an Austin tradition since the early ‘50s.

Lance Morris, Michele Gary and Matt Epple handled negotiations as exclusive retail leasing agents for Shops at The Galleria.

Mandola’s and Maudie’s, two of Austin’s favorite concepts, are both locally based. Mandola’s opened its first location in 2005 at The Triangle, a mixed-use environment at Guadalupe, Lamar and 45th Street. Mandola’s, founded by famed Italian chef and Carrabba’s Italian Grill founding partner Damian Mandola, offers Italian specialty foods, a line of Italian wines and a trattoria specializing in rustic Italian dishes.

Maudie’s founder Maudie Wilson Hamilton sold the café to Joe Draker in 1992. Draker changed the menu to Tex-Mex, and Maudie’s now has five locations throughout Austin.

Shops at the Galleria, located directly across from the Hill Country Galleria, features a line-up that includes Lowe’s, Best Buy, World Market, Old Navy, Marshalls, Michaels, OfficeMax, Pier 1 Imports, PetSmart and many others.  Mandola’s and Maudie’s join a restaurant line-up that includes Waterloo Ice House, Little Woodrow’s,  Tsubaki Sushi, Blue Bamboo and several others.
