RENOVATION OF HULEN SQUARE LEADS TO HIGHER OCCUPANCY

FORT WORTH—Cencor Realty Services, which recently completed the renovation of Hulen Square, notes that the renovation not only upgraded the center’s appearance, it enhanced its tenant mix through increased occupancy and tenant retention.

Hulen Square is a community center located at the southwest corner of Hulen Street and Granbury Road, in the trade area of Hulen Mall, one of the Fort Worth area’s most successful malls.

Douglas Scott, vice president of asset management with Cencor, oversaw the completion of the renovation. Cencor’s sister company, The Weitzman Group, is responsible for leasing at the center. Weitzman’s Taylor Smith and Christopher Walker handle leasing.

Hulen Square, originally built in the late 1970s, now features an updated, contemporary appearance with new tenant signage elements, fascia towers, an upgraded paint scheme, new signage and upgrades to the center’s parking lot and lighting. The center incorporates 83,405 square feet of retail space.

Hulen Square has signed five leases recently, including two for brand-new tenants: Tots & Tykes Pediatrics, which leased 5,900 square feet, and Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, which leased 1,200 square feet. The center also features a line-up that includes Dollar General, Firestone, Leslie’s Swimming Pool Supplies, Monarch Dental, Beauty Warehouse, La Dolce Salon, Goodwill Store and Majestic Liquors.

Cencor manages Hulen under the direction of Property Manager Zoe Lopez.

The architect for the renovation was Halbach-Dietz Architects, and the general contractor was Bredow Construction
