ACREAGE ACQUIRED FOR DENTON APARTMENT COMPLEX

DENTON--Florida-based Parkland Development Corporation, through its affiliate Cypress Denton Station, Ltd, has begun construction on The Forum at Denton Station, an apartment community designed specifically for college students.  The Forum at Denton Station will be located on one of the most attractive sites for apartment development less than two miles south of the University of North Texas and Texas Women’s University. The Forum at Denton Station will have 348 apartments and will be managed by Greystar, one of the nation’s largest residential management companies.

Andrew Sanderson, associate with The Weitzman Group, handled negotiations for the acquisition of the land tract on behalf of the purchaser, Parkland Development Corporation. The Forum at Denton Station will be developed on 26 acres at the northeast quadrant of Center Place Drive and I-35. A new street will be developed to run through the middle of the complex to increase access and visibility.

The complex is expected to open in fall 2009. Unlike other apartments in the market, all The Forum at Denton Station apartments are fully furnished and rented by the bedroom.  This leasing structure enables students to be responsible only for their own rent; the individual bedrooms and baths offer more privacy than conventional apartments.

The apartment mix will consist of one bedroom/one bath, two bedroom/two bath, three bedroom/three bath and, in the most available floor plan, four bedroom/four bath.  Also, The Forum at Denton Station will pre-wire all living rooms and bedrooms for cable television and high-speed internet service.
