Young, Jr., is managing director of brokerage services for The Weitzman Group, one of the largest commercial real estate brokerage and related services firms in Texas. Young oversees general brokerage activities, coordinates project leasing activities, works to increase the company's general brokerage presence and develops and expands the company's divisions specializing in income and office properties. In addition, Young handles recruitment for the brokerage operation and handles internal and external marketing and promotion efforts. Prior to joining Weitzman, Young was senior managing director, south and southeast regions, for Kennedy-Wilson, where he was responsible for the D/FW operations and overall brokerage activities. His extensive commercial real estate career also includes service as executive vice president and managing director in charge of the Dallas operation for Grubb & Ellis and as executive vice president for BEI Management, Inc. Organizations Young is the 2009-2011 president of the Retail Brokers Network, a nationwide retail networking group whose member companies specialize in retail real estate brokerage. RBN’s independent firms work together on a regional and national level in tenant representation, project leasing and investment sales. Young also is a member of the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors (NTCAR) and is past president of its board of directors. In addition, he is a member of the Realtors Commercial Alliance national board of directors and is active in The Real Estate Council, the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Urban Land Institute and the International Development Research Council.  Young recently co-authored a chapter in “Leasing for Non-leasing Professionals,” a book published by the International Council of Shopping Centers. He is a frequent instructor for ICSC nationwide educational programs and associate dean for the ICSC University in Philadelphia.. Education Young received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
