Professional Background
Steve Chandler is City Partner and Senior Vice President for the Houston office of Cencor Realty Services. He oversees project development as well as the day-to-day operations of property management, asset management and new business development for Cencor's Houston office, which is currently responsible for a portfolio totaling approximately 4 million square feet of retail space. Additionally, he directs the brokerage team for Cencor’s commercial real estate brokerage affiliate, The Weitzman Group. Chandler joined Cencor Realty Services in 2002, bringing with him 20 years of successful real estate experience.  Prior to joining Cencor, Chandler was a Principal of Chandler/Hooper Realty, with the responsibility of overseeing all phases of development, management and leasing for grocery-anchored retail projects with major tenants such as Kroger, Winn-Dixie and Wal-Mart. Under Chandler’s direction, Cencor ‘s The Crossing at 518 in Pearland was honored with The Houston Landmark Award, recognizing it as the Best Retail Development in the greater Houston area. The Crossing at 518’s major tenants include JCPenney, Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy and many others.  Additionally, Chandler’s leadership has brought Cencor Houston the successful completion of outstanding projects such as Colony Park in Bryan, Deer Park Station in Deer Park, Eagle Ranch in Katy, Tuscan Lakes in League City and The Market at 1488 in Magnolia.  He also is planning the development of a 275-acre tract in Manvel, scheduled for a 750,000-square-foot regional-retail center. His projects with Cencor to date total more than 1,000,000 square feet.   The success of such Kroger Signature-anchored centers as Autumn Creek Village in Friendswood and Cullen Crossing in Pearland can also be attributed to the Cencor Houston team.

Shopping Center Developments
Under Chandler's leadership, Cencor in Houston has been under way with its most active development period ever. Centers that Chandler has directed the development of include:
  • The Crossing at 518, a regional center located at FM 518 and FM 288 in Pearland, Texas; retailers include JCPenney, Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy and Wal-Mart Supercenter.
  • The Market at 1488, a community retail center anchored by Kroger Signature located at FM 1488 and FM 2979 in Montgomery County, Texas.
  • Eagle Ranch Shopping Center, a community retail center anchored by Kroger Signature at West Little York and Fry Road in Houston, Texas.
  • Deer Park Station, a shopping center located at Spencer Highway and East Boulevard, peripheral to a Wal-Mart Supercenter, in Deer Park, Texas.
  • Colony Park, a Kroger Signature-anchored shopping center at Highway 6 Bypass and Boonville Road in Bryan, Texas.
     
  • Tuscan Lakes, an LA Fitness-anchored project in the upscale community of League City, Texas.

Organizations
Chandler is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Urban Land Institute.

Education
Chandler received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Lamar University in Beaumont.
